August 2nd, 2011This summer has been a busy one at The Womb so far. I'm pleased to say that we've been booked pretty solid for the last couple of months. Somehow, I'm still mixing The Fox Derby. I ended up writing string orchestrations for a few of the songs which slowed things down a bit. It's almost really done this time though. I'm really excited to mix The Show Ponies' debut album which was recorded at The Womb in June and produced by my good friend Jason Harris and I. The American Spirit has also been cranking out some good tunes at The Womb which I'm excited to finish up and mix later this month. That's about it. Busy season for shows is kicking back up in a few weeks. There will be no shortage of insanity to be a part of. Loving Austin. Rain would be nice... February 1st, 2011The Womb is now open for business. I'm finishing up mixing The Fox Derby's forthcoming album, Life Apart. Sessions are starting to fill up later in the month. I'll soon be turning lead engineer duties at Warehouse Live over to my good friend Joe Barales. Transitions suck, but I think it's about time to become a full time Austin resident. Looks like I'll be playing a couple of solo sets for some day parties during SXSW. One will be on March 16th at Cheer Up Charlie's early in the afternoon. No details on the other yet. I'll also be performing multiple times with the Shimmering War Choir! Hit me up for more details. December 11th, 2010On November 1st I relocated to Austin, TX to start building out a new recording studio which will be called The Womb. Stay tuned for a new site and more details to come. September 17th, 2010I've been working with the Fox Derby producing their forthcoming album, Life Apart, for quite a few months now and things are really starting to take shape. We're getting down to the final stages of recording now, adding string arrangements, vocals, and other goodies. Jason Harris of The Kilns is composing strings for one of the songs and is going into the studio to record them out in L.A. next month. I've also added various instruments and composed some string parts for it myself. I'm pretty excited about it as a whole. It will certainly be one of the biggest sounding records I've made. Look for a release this winter. If you're into crazy hardcore punk rock, I'm also in the process of mixing a four song EP for Dickey Hands. That should be available sometime in the next couple of months. More updates later... |
